My Work

My goal as an artist is to evoke an instant and even humorous reaction from my viewer. For example, the Snook-A-Lisa (as shown) almost always inspires a chuckle or a cringe depending on who sees her. Both reactions are equally satisfying to me. The instant gratification of causing one person to openly react to something I have painted is the best part of what I do. I was surrounded by pop culture my entire life (as many of us are), and I try to extract the whimsical, humorous side of our culture and transform it into my own story. Life is too serious as is. My goal is to make light of it all with satire and vibrant colors.
